AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS
Since 1898 the society, mainly through the activity of technical committees, has conducted a vast amount of investigaion and research on the properties of materials and the development of more than 3900 standards for materials.
These standards are used by industry, engineers, architects, etc in specifying and evaluating materials of all kinds.
